Personal Consultation

Get a one-hour UK immigration consultation with an IAA-regulated adviser and written advice. Focused on your route, circumstances and next steps.

Understand your immigration route and your next steps

An immigration decision can affect when you move, extend your stay or make longer-term plans. Before taking the next step, you may want an adviser to explain how the requirements apply to your circumstances and what still needs to be established.

Knightsbridge’s Personal Consultation gives you one hour with an IAA-regulated adviser, focused on the UK immigration route and questions agreed with you. Afterwards, you receive written advice prepared around your circumstances, so you can return to the advice when deciding what to do next.

£250 for a one-hour consultation, with written advice emailed as a PDF within three working days afterwards.

Knightsbridge is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

When a consultation can help

You may be preparing your own application, planning ahead or deciding whether to instruct someone to manage the application for you. A consultation can help when you have a question about a particular route that needs individual advice.

For example, you may want to understand:

  • Which requirements apply to your proposed application.
  • How your current immigration position or previous history affects the question you are asking.
  • What needs to be established about your family circumstances, employment, income or residence.
  • Whether information or evidence is missing before a reliable conclusion can be reached.

The focus is agreed before the appointment. If you are unsure which route is relevant, explain your objective through Case Assessment so we can identify the appropriate next step.

What your £250 consultation includes

One hour led by an immigration adviser

Your consultation is conducted by an IAA-regulated adviser. We discuss your objective and circumstances, then work through the questions agreed for the appointment.

The hour is focused on your immigration matter. You can ask for explanations and discuss how the advice affects the decision you are trying to make. You can also meet our team before enquiring.

Advice focused on the agreed route

We explain the relevant requirements and how they relate to the facts you provide. Where an answer depends on information that has not been established, we identify the gap and explain why it matters.

For example, advice about financial evidence may depend on how income is received and which period needs to be evidenced. We explain the point that needs resolving in your circumstances.

The route provides the focus; your circumstances determine the advice.

Written advice prepared for you

Within three working days after your consultation, we email your personalised written advice as a PDF. It covers:

  • The route and questions considered.
  • The important facts and assumptions on which the advice is based.
  • Our advice on the agreed questions, including material concerns or unresolved points.
  • The recommended next steps and any further information needed.

This gives you a record to refer to as you prepare, obtain information or decide whether further professional help would be useful.

If the available information does not support a firm conclusion, the written advice explains what remains uncertain and what is needed to resolve it.

Preparing for your consultation

Start by telling us what you want to achieve, your current immigration position and any date you are working towards. Mention previous applications, refusals or correspondence that may affect the question.

Before the appointment, we confirm the focus and explain what information to provide. The documents we consider for this service are limited to:

  • Identification documents.
  • Relevant Home Office letters and correspondence.
  • Your biometric residence permit (BRP), if available.
  • A PDF or printout of your eVisa.

These help the adviser understand your identity, recorded immigration position and any relevant Home Office correspondence.

Reviewing financial, employment, relationship or other supporting evidence is outside the consultation’s scope. You can discuss the evidence requirements for your route, but checking your supporting documents is a separate service. If that examination is needed before a question can be answered reliably, we explain why and what further work would involve.

It helps to prepare the questions you most want answered and an accurate account of relevant dates. If a fact is uncertain or a document is unavailable, tell us so the adviser can explain how that affects the advice.

Online and in-person appointments

Online consultations offer more flexible appointment availability and let you speak with an adviser without travelling to an office.

In-person appointments are also available. Availability may be limited to particular days, times and locations. We confirm the available options when arranging your appointment.

Deciding what to do next

The consultation is a standalone service. You can use the written advice to guide your next steps, gather information or decide whether to obtain further help. There is no obligation to instruct Knightsbridge to prepare an application.

If you would like further assistance, we explain the appropriate service, its scope and fee before you decide. Any new application work is agreed separately.

Advice reflects the information and position considered at the time. If your circumstances or the applicable requirements change, further advice may be needed before you rely on the earlier conclusions.

Choosing the right level of help

Case Assessment is the initial enquiry stage. It helps us understand what you need and identify the appropriate service. The Personal Consultation provides the agreed hour of individual advice and the subsequent written advice.

Document Analysis may be appropriate when your main concern is having specified supporting documents examined. The scope of that review is agreed separately.

Full Representation brings together assessment, a bespoke application plan and document checklist, evidence review, application preparation and submission. It is the service to consider if you want Knightsbridge to manage that work.

If your main question concerns a refusal decision and the options following it, tell us at the outset. We can establish whether Refusal Analysis or another service fits the work required.

A consultation does not include application preparation, drafting supporting letters, document uploads or submission. The Home Office remains responsible for any application decision.

Fee and arrangements

The fixed fee of £250 covers your one-hour adviser consultation and personalised written advice. No VAT is added.

Payment is required in full when you book.

Before booking, we confirm the agreed focus, appointment arrangements and information needed.

If the work you need falls outside the consultation’s scope, we explain that and discuss the appropriate next step. Further work and any additional fee are agreed before it begins.

If you have an approaching deadline, give us the exact date when you enquire so we can assess whether we can assist in time.
