If your UK visa or immigration application is taking longer than expected, we can assess where the application stands, what the Home Delayed Application Assessment
Understand your application timeline and your next practical step
Waiting for an immigration decision can leave important plans unsettled. You may be waiting to start work, begin a course, join your family or understand when you can move forward.
Perhaps the published processing time has passed. You may have received a delay notice, answered a request for further information or contacted UKVI without receiving a useful explanation.
Knightsbridge reviews your application timeline, relevant Home Office correspondence and the applicable processing timeframe. We explain what the available information tells us, what needs attention and which practical next step may be appropriate.
Fixed professional fee: £99.
The fee covers the assessment. Further correspondence, representations or ongoing work are quoted separately.
When this service can help
This service may be suitable if your application is taking longer than expected and you want an adviser to examine the position before deciding what to do.
You may have:
- Passed the published processing timeframe without a decision.
- Received a message explaining that your application will take longer.
- Supplied further evidence and heard nothing since.
- Attended an interview and remained without an update.
- Paid for a priority service whose expected timeframe has passed.
- Made previous enquiries without resolving your concern.
The effect of the delay also matters. Tell us about any employment, study, family or other circumstances that make the timing particularly significant.
We establish whether the assessment is suitable for your enquiry before you instruct us.
What your £99 assessment covers
Establishing the application timeline
We review the sequence of events: the application submitted, relevant dates, identity or biometric steps, any requests for information, your responses and subsequent contact with UKVI.
This helps distinguish the time spent waiting from outstanding steps or correspondence that may need attention.
Checking the relevant processing timeframe
The applicable timeframe depends on the application, where it was made and the service used.
We check the relevant published guidance and the appropriate starting point for your application. We then compare that with your chronology and any explanation the Home Office has provided.
A missed expected timeframe is a reason to examine the position. The appropriate response still depends on the circumstances.
Reviewing Home Office correspondence
We examine relevant acknowledgements, delay notices, requests for further information and responses to previous enquiries.
We consider what those communications establish, whether they identify an outstanding action and what remains unclear.
The assessment is based on the records available to us. Where the correspondence does not explain the reason for the delay, we identify that uncertainty.
Explaining the next practical step
We explain our findings and the action, if any, that appears appropriate within the scope of our advice.
Depending on the circumstances, this may involve allowing further time, addressing an outstanding request, making an appropriate progress enquiry or obtaining specialist advice.
You should understand why a step is being suggested, what it is intended to achieve and whether it requires separate work.
The information we need
Start with what you applied for, when you applied and what you have heard from the Home Office.
The records required will depend on your circumstances. They may include your application acknowledgement and reference number, confirmation of biometric or identity steps, evidence of any priority service, Home Office correspondence and copies of previous enquiries.
Where further information was requested, we will also need to understand what was requested, when you responded and any acknowledgement received.
If the delay is causing a particular problem, explain it and provide relevant supporting information where available.
You are responsible for giving us a complete and accurate account of the relevant events and correspondence. We identify any further information needed for the agreed assessment.
What happens after the assessment?
The assessment gives you an explanation of the position and a recommended next step. It does not automatically appoint Knightsbridge to conduct continuing correspondence or manage the pending application.
If further work is appropriate and within our authorised scope, we explain what it involves and quote separately before proceeding.
That may include an agreed enquiry or other correspondence. A substantive response to an evidence request, a wider review of the application or ongoing casework requires its own scope.
Where the circumstances call for specialist legal advice outside our authorisation, we explain this and can offer an introduction to an appropriately authorised solicitor. Any separate instruction, fee and client care arrangements are agreed with that firm.
Why Knightsbridge?
We examine the history before recommending action
The submission date alone rarely provides the full picture.
We look at the application, the relevant processing timeframe, the correspondence and what has happened since submission. Our recommendation follows that assessment.
An IAA-regulated adviser oversees the work
Your assessment receives professional oversight from an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority.
We explain what the available information supports, what remains uncertain and where further professional input may be needed.
You know what the fee covers
The £99 fee covers the defined assessment. Any subsequent work is explained and quoted separately, allowing you to decide whether to proceed.
Knightsbridge is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our professional fee.
What the assessment can establish
Our role is to assess the available information and advise on a proportionate next step.
We cannot guarantee that contacting the Home Office will produce a decision, change the outcome or secure a response by a particular date. The Home Office controls its consideration of the application.
A complaint also has a different purpose from a progress enquiry. We consider the nature of the issue before recommending which channel may be appropriate.
Have your delay assessed
Tell us what you applied for, the relevant dates, what UKVI has told you and how the wait is affecting your circumstances.
Our initial Case Assessment enquiry helps us confirm whether the £99 service is suitable and what information we need. We explain the arrangements before you decide to instruct us.
