UK immigration advice for students and graduates
Studying in the UK is an investment in your future. Your immigration plans should support that investment, from arriving for your course to deciding what comes after graduation.
Knightsbridge Immigration helps international students and graduates understand their options, prepare their applications and plan their next steps. Whether you are applying from overseas, continuing your studies or preparing to enter employment, we explain what your circumstances require and help you organise the work ahead.
Prepare for your studies in the UK
A university offer is an important milestone. Preparing your Student Visa application means bringing together the immigration requirements, supporting evidence and your course timetable.
We review your circumstances, your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and the documents relevant to your application. This includes assessing the financial and English language requirements and identifying any additional evidence you may need.
You will know which documents to gather, what needs checking and when you can apply. Addressing these points early helps you plan around enrolment, accommodation and travel.
Understand your position during your course
Your plans may change while you study. You might receive an offer for another course, need additional time to complete your qualification or want to understand the work your permission allows.
Before making a change, it is important to establish whether your existing permission covers it and whether a further application is required.
We can assess your immigration position alongside the information provided by your university. Where you are eligible to extend your stay, we help you prepare the application and understand how the timing fits with your current permission.
Plan your Graduate Visa application
For eligible students completing a qualifying UK course, the Graduate Visa offers an opportunity to gain experience and explore employment after study.
Eligibility depends on more than having a degree. Your immigration status, course, period of study in the UK and your education provider’s notification of successful completion all matter.
You must apply from within the UK before your Student permission expires. You do not need to wait for your graduation ceremony.
We review these requirements with you, explain the period of permission available and help you prepare your application around the relevant dates.
Move from study into employment
Your first job offer can raise practical questions. Do you need employer sponsorship? Can you move directly into a work route? What happens when your Graduate permission ends?
A Graduate Visa cannot be extended. If you want to remain in the UK beyond it, you will need to qualify under another route.
We assess whether a Skilled Worker application or another relevant option fits your circumstances. Where you qualify to move directly from Student permission into sponsored employment, we can explain that option too.
Our Professionals & Skilled Workers page covers support for the next stage of your career.
Include your family in your planning
If you have a partner or children, their position needs to be considered alongside your own. Eligibility to bring dependants under the Student route is restricted, and moving to the Graduate route involves separate requirements.
We check which provisions apply to your circumstances and explain the evidence and applications your family may need. This helps you plan your studies, employment and family arrangements together.
Discuss your next step
Tell us what you are studying, where you are applying from and what you hope to do next. If you already hold UK permission, include its expiry date and any approaching course or employment deadlines.
You do not need to choose a visa route before contacting us. We will confirm whether we can assist and explain the proposed work and fees before you instruct us.
