Understand your refusal and decide what to do next
After an immigration application is refused, you need to understand what the Home Office’s concerns mean for your case and what you can do next.
Knightsbridge’s Refusal Analysis examines the refusal letter alongside the submitted evidence relevant to those concerns. You receive written feedback explaining our findings, any unresolved issues and the next steps to consider.
Each review is built around your refusal, your circumstances and the documents involved.
£350 for a focused review. Broader refusals involving several or overlapping areas are quoted individually.
Written feedback within three working days after we receive payment and all documents required for the agreed review.
Already a Full Representation client? Refusal Analysis is included for the application Knightsbridge handled for you. Contact your adviser to arrange your included review.
What your review covers
Understanding the refusal
We read the complete Home Office refusal letter to identify the reasons given and establish which issues need examining.
Before accepting your instruction and payment, we confirm whether the proposed review falls within our authorised scope. We then agree the areas and documents included, together with the fee.
Examining the relevant evidence
We review the documents from your submitted application that relate to the agreed refusal issues.
For example, where a refusal concerns financial evidence, we examine the relevant financial documents and application information against the reasons given in the decision.
We consider what the material shows, where information is missing or inconsistent, and whether the evidence supplied for review raises questions about the Home Office’s reasoning.
This is a focused examination of the refusal issues. It does not include a review of the whole application or confirm that every other immigration requirement was met.
Addressing connected issues
Some refusals contain several grounds that overlap. A concern about one document may also affect another part of the decision.
Where this happens, we explain which areas need examining together. We quote according to the issues and volume of documents involved, so you understand the scope before committing.
What you receive
Your written feedback explains:
- The refusal reasons examined and the documents reviewed.
- Our findings on those issues and the reasons for our assessment.
- Missing evidence, inconsistencies or questions that remain unresolved.
- The next steps to consider and any further advice or work needed.
Depending on the findings, the next step may involve addressing an evidence gap, considering a fresh application or obtaining specialist advice about challenging the decision.
A 15-minute telephone call with an adviser may also be included. Your quotation confirms whether this forms part of your review. Where included, the call allows you to discuss the written findings and the next steps identified.
You can use the feedback to decide how to proceed. There is no obligation to instruct Knightsbridge for further work.
What we need from you
We identify the documents needed for your particular refusal. These will normally include:
- The complete refusal letter, including every page, and the date you received it.
- The documents submitted with the application that relate to the agreed review areas.
- Relevant application answers and Home Office correspondence, where requested.
- Complete and accurate background information relevant to the issues being reviewed.
Please distinguish documents submitted with the original application from evidence obtained after the decision. This helps us separate what the Home Office had available from information that might support a future application.
You are responsible for providing the full relevant details and requested documents. We explain what we need and identify any gaps that limit the conclusions we can reach.
If you cannot obtain a document, tell us before the review begins so we can explain whether a useful assessment can proceed.
Fees and payment
A focused Refusal Analysis costs £350, payable in full upfront. Knightsbridge is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
Where the refusal covers broad or overlapping issues, or substantial documentation, we provide an individual quotation based on the work required.
Your quotation confirms the review scope, fee and whether an adviser call is included. The agreed fee covers that defined work.
If additional information reveals further areas requiring examination, we explain the proposed additional work and agree any fee before expanding the review.
When you receive your feedback
We provide written feedback within three working days after receiving both payment and all documents required for the agreed review.
We confirm when we have the material needed to begin and when you can expect your feedback.
Tell us at the outset about any deadline in your decision letter and when you received it. This allows us to establish whether the review can be completed in time to be useful.
Requesting or purchasing Refusal Analysis does not submit a challenge or extend a deadline. Where action is needed sooner, urgent advice from an appropriately authorised professional may be necessary.
If you need a specialist solicitor
Knightsbridge works with solicitors who specialise in immigration refusals. Where your matter requires advice or representation outside our authorised scope, we can offer a referral to a suitable firm.
If that need is apparent at the outset, we explain the referral option before you purchase this service.
You decide whether to proceed. The solicitor will assess whether they can accept your matter, provide their own quotation and issue their own client care agreement. You instruct that firm separately for the work they agree to undertake.
With your agreement, we share the analysis and feedback we have prepared, together with relevant case documents, so the solicitor has the benefit of the work already completed.
Where appropriate arrangements are in place, Knightsbridge may also assist with agreed work under the solicitor’s supervision. Any continuing role, responsibility for the work and related charges will be explained before that work begins.
You remain free to choose another adviser or solicitor.
What happens after the analysis?
Refusal Analysis covers the agreed review and written feedback, together with an adviser call where included.
Preparing or submitting a fresh application, an administrative review or an appeal requires a separate agreement. We explain whether Knightsbridge can undertake the work or whether specialist representation is needed.
If your analysis is included in an existing Full Representation service, any further work is considered under that agreement, including our commitments concerning correction of our own work. A partner solicitor’s separately agreed services carry their own fees.
Request an assessment of your refusal
Start by telling us which application was refused, when you received the decision and whether there is a deadline.
We explain how to provide your refusal letter, establish whether we can assist and confirm the scope, documents and fee before you proceed.
